Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding

About Us

Since 2000, our mission here at Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding has been to make sure your pet is happy, having fun, and is well-adjusted to. We treat your pet as if it were our own by providing personalized attention and loving care all day long! Our 3,000-square-foot facility has a large playroom, 36 private sleeping dens (suites), and an 8-foot privacy fence surrounding a 1,500-square-foot fenced-in outdoor play yard. Our outdoor play yard is equipped with a filtered, recirculating water delivery system that allows each dog access to fresh filtered water at all times.

The play yard is always staffed by one of our caring employees who will monitor play and keep the yard extremely clean throughout the day. We even have a doggie pool so our pack can cool off on those warm summer days! Our indoor playroom is usually used for small group play, whether it's our youngest or most senior pups, some of our smallest pooches, or occasionally just a dog or two having one of those days when you don’t feel like socializing.

We also utilize our indoor playroom for rainy days, or days when we feel the heat or the cold outside could affect the dogs’ well-being. Both our indoor and outdoor play areas have live streaming access on our website so you can check in on your fur-baby whenever you want! Our caregivers love each and every dog and make sure that everyone is safe and having so much fun! Whether your dog is outgoing and social or shy and reserved, you know that they are getting tons of attention from our staff. After safety and health, the most important thing to us is that your dog wants to come back to see us again!

Meet the Staff!

We believe that our staff is the most important part of your dog’s daycare experience, and knowing who is with your pup can bring ease to your mind. We have vet techs on staff. So, let's introduce you to our caregivers!

Tabitha Trimm-Hooson

Tabitha

Tabitha, along with her partner and her spouse, Steffen, has owned Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding since 2014 after purchasing the business from the previous owner, Sanjay. An avid builder and tinkerer with a deep love for all animals, you can find her most days making repairs and improving the facility for both the clients (furry and human) and the employees. An architect by training, she spent most of the last 6 years splitting time between Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding and her firm, but she came back full time in 2023. If you see a person laying on the playroom floor covered in puppies, it's probably her. Nothing brings more joy to her than an excited, happy dog and a pleased customer.

Monica Halpin

Steffen

Steffen has worked at Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding since 2009 and has been an owner since 2014 when he was bumped up from yard manager to proprietor. With previous experience working at this very facility as an employee, Steffen knows this business inside and out. Moreover, he knows dogs even better. Practically growing up in the Newton County Animal Shelter directed by his mom, Steffen learned the ways of dogs from a young age by interacting with the dogs that needed help before they could be adopted and through his mother and her years of experience as a farmer’s daughter and a vet tech. Not wanting to go the heart-heavy routes of veterinary medicine or shelter work, Steffen found his niche with doggie daycare. He believes that despite years of training with other professionals, he has learned more about dogs from the dogs themselves. Being able to watch dogs grow, change, and thrive in a pack environment is one of his greatest joys.

Monica Halpin

Monica

Monica has worked for Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding since the beginning under the first owner, Traci. She went on to become one of the foremost experts on exotic bird care for our Atlanta Zoo, even being invited to help care for a clutch of flamingo hatchlings in a zoo in South Africa! Despite all her jet-setting and important duties for the Atlanta Zoo, she still comes back every Friday to care for her beloved pack. Every dog loves Auntie Monica!

Rufus Rivers

Rufus

Rufus has worked for Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding since 2015. Quiet and artistic, Rufus connects with the dogs on an emotional level. A steady pack leader, the pups love to lounge and play when Rufus is in the yard. Briefly departing Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding to pursue a career in veterinary service, Rufus soon returned after the pandemic to enjoy his time with the dogs and brought with him the experience gained through his time as a vet tech. We rely on his insight and our veterinary partners whenever needed.

Aramus Bolden

Aramus

Aramus has worked for Wagging Tails Doggie Daycare & Boarding since 2015. Aramus is our bubbly momma-bear. She knows how to catch a dog when their shenanigans are mere forethought and knows how to make a nervous dog comfortable and at ease. She is our marketing guru and is the brilliant mind behind all our social media posts!

Janissa Harvey

Janíssa

Janissa has been bringing her sunny personality to light up our facility since 2022. If she's ever not up front when you come in, it's because she’s having a cuddle party with the littles in the playroom or giving a pup a gentle and caring bath. With her background in child care and development, she is perfectly suited for the individual care and patience we give to all of our dogs.

Mak Williams

Mak

Mak has been one of our pack leaders since 2022. They have an amazing, close bond with the dogs under their care. They love taking funny pictures with the dogs in the yard and keeping parents up to date with the goings-on of the puppers. They are also a budding musician; you can often find them sharing this passion out in the yard and dancing with the dogs.

Stefan Trimm

Stefan

Stefan has been kind enough to lend his helping hand since 2016. You’ll mostly find him in the office on Sundays. After many years in our nation's Marine Corps, he brings his discipline and cleaning habits to bear every Sunday afternoon. An avid man of history, you can find him on the dance floor of local reenactment balls or on the battlefields of the south reenacting the defining moments of the Civil War. He continues to serve our country with his work for C.O.R.E., providing local, affordable vaccinations to our community.
